Remote Ticket Entry (RTE) is a program that allows
qualified excavators to enter their locate request directly to Alabama
One Call via the internet. To qualify to use the RTE program, an excavator
must currently use the AOC system by calling in locate requests. Access
to the one call system is available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week
for the convenience of RTE users.
Only
routine or short notice locate requests may be entered via the internet.
No emergencies will be accepted. For additional information, read
the RTE Procedures.
The RTE program is designed to allow approved excavators to enter
locate requests directly to the AOC computer system during hours convenient
to the excavator via the internet. The AOC benefits from alleviating
peak periods of incoming telephone calls to the One Call Center and
the excavator benefits from reducing the amount of time spent on the
telephone to provide locate request information during the hours of
operation for the AOC.
System Requirements
The only system requirement for using RTE program is access to the
internet and the ability to reach the AOC internet address (http://www.al1call.com)
through the user's web browser.
NOTE:
For best results, high speed internet access is prefered
since the connection does include pulling down map information.
Regular dial-up access can be used, but will be much slower in responding.
Also,
for those individuals accessing the system through an internal firewall
in their company, there may be some conflicts in connecting with the
site. If this should occur, please contact Alabama One Call's technical
department to provide additional information to your company's IT
department.
